
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will resume from the summer season this year. Along with this, direct flight service between India and China will also start. However, the date has not been announced yet.
The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information in a statement on Monday. It was said that these decisions were taken after a two-day meeting between Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Mistry and Chinese Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.

Flight services and travel were closed since 2020. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and flight services between the two countries were closed since 2020. The reason for this was the bad relations between the two and the wave of Covid in 2020. There was a Doklam dispute between India and China in June 2020 and the first wave of Covid came in March.
The foundation of the agreement was laid in Kazan.

China has not been allowing Indians to visit Kailash Mansarovar since 2020. This month, the Indian government, in response to an RTI, said that China is breaking two major agreements made in 2013 and 2014 by preventing people from visiting Kailash Mansarovar.

Two major agreements have been signed between India and China for visiting Kailash Mansarovar.
First Agreement: This agreement was signed between India and China on May 20, 2013 to reach Kailash Mansarovar via Lipulekh Pass. This agreement was signed between the then Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This opened the Lipulekh Pass route for travel.
Second Agreement: This agreement was signed between India and China on the route to Kailash Mansarovar via Nathu La on September 18, 2014. Sushma Swaraj, as External Affairs Minister, signed this agreement with Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The language of both the agreements is almost identical. These agreements will come into effect from the day the foreign ministers of both the countries sign the paper. The agreement provides for automatic extension of its time limit after every 5 years.

The height of Mount Kailash is less than Everest, but no one has been able to climb it till date . So far, 7000 people have climbed the world’s highest mountain Everest. Its height is 8848 meters, while the height of Mount Kailash is about 2000 meters less than Everest. However, no one has been able to climb it till date. Some people have definitely succeeded in circumambulating it for 52 km.
In fact, the climb to Mount Kailash is very steep. The angle of the mountain is more than 65 degrees. At the same time, the angle of Mount Everest is 40-50 degrees, so climbing Kailash is difficult. There have been many attempts to climb it. The last attempt was in 2001. However, now there is a complete ban on climbing Kailash.

Devotees visiting Mount Kailash from Uttarakhand’s Vyas Valley Since the closure of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, devotees have been visiting Mount Kailash from Uttarakhand’s Vyas Valley. Last year, a team of officials from the Uttarakhand Tourism Department, Border Roads Organization (BRO) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) had found a clearly visible site of Mount Kailash.
The holy Mount Kailash can be seen from the old Lipulekh Pass for the first time from Indian territory on October 3, 2024. It is located in the Vyas Valley of Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.
